About This Blog

I started this blog because the tabs on the Lucero message board kept getting lost when they switched sites. A blog isn't a perfect forum for guitar tabs and chords, but it now has posts for all but a handful of their songs. And, to the best of my knowledge, this is the only source for Lucero tabs that has been endorsed by an actual Lucero guitarist. Accept no substitutes.

Holy shit! That's how that goes... www.lucerotabs.blogspot.com

Thank you to the folks who have sent me submissions, suggestions, and corrections. Thanks also to anyone who posted a tab on the luceromusic.com boards. You can find me there posting as Boston Twang. You can also email me at lucerotabs@gmail. Submissions and/or corrections are greatly appreciated.

General Thoughts on Lucero Chords

Ben seems to favor chord variations that fret the B string at the third fret. If a C, Em, G, or A doesn't seem quite right, try:
Cadd9 (x32030), Em7 (022030), G (320033), Asus (x02230)

Also, I think he leaves the E string open on a lot of his D chords (xx0230).

Smoke

I updated this tab because I think it makes sense to point out the accents you can pick out while Ben's playing chords. Brian plays straight barre chords throughout. Basically, they're both just chugging along playing 16th notes on the top of the chord and then Ben accents the bottom, but it follows a pretty distinct pattern, so I think it deserves to be tabbed.

Two things to keep in mind: First, like I said, the chords are 16th notes, I didn't tab the top of each chord 14 times because it's pretty easy to hear what's going on. In short, between each bar is 16 beats. The first 13 or 14 of those are the top of the chord. Got it? Good. Second, in general, the accents are up strokes. The exception is when there are three parts to the accent, then it's up-down-up.

Noah. Thanks for putting up more information on the intro. You must have just posted it cause I was looking at it, went to another song and came back and was surprised it has changed. That's for all of the posts this site it great! You've done a great job. It's nice that I can find any Lucero song. Love the youtube videos too.

Yeah, now that I understand the accents better, I'm having a lot of fun playing this one.

And thank you for the compliment. I'm psyched that so many people are learning Lucero songs.
