Now that the band has released a video of the studio version, I figured it was time to update this post with Brian's parts.
Brian has three leads, but they're really similar. Once you learn one, it's mostly just about picking what parts to play in which order for the others. The tabs of the are at the bottom of the post.
For whatever it's worth, I think Ben probably plays power chords (F#5 and C#5) instead of actual minor chords, but the minors are implied by the key, so that's the way I listed them.
A C#m D F#m E A
A__________________C#m
Why don't you stop wasting time
__________D
Come back down the line
____F#m_____________E_________A
I'm right where you left me before
A________________C#m
I can't say I've been behaved
_____________________D
You'd not believe me anyway
________F#m________E________D
There's been other women of course
D__________A________F#m
Hold me to this one
D________________A____F#m_________D
I won't make the same mistakes anymore
D________F#m__________E_________A
Oh now darling please darken my door
A C#m D F#m E A
With me is where you belong
So bring your self on home
We'll tear this town down to the ground
White Water Tavern nights
Old songs and jugs of wine
There's no finer mess to be found
We'll hold to this one
I can still hear your footsteps crossing the floor
Come on now darling please darken my door
_____E____________________D_____________A
Your barefeet on hardwood barely make a sound
_________E___________________________D______________A
From the kitchen to the bedroom with all the lights down
___________F#m______E________D_____________A
A glass of water, a whiskey, smoke in your hair
______C#m___________B___________D
All I taste is that perfume you wear, that perfume you wear
I don't suspect that you'll stay
Gone are the good old days
But then weren't we sure something else
I've caused enough trouble here
So girl get it in high gear
And come save me from myself
We'll hold to this one
I can still smell that godawful perfume you wore
Come on now darling please darken my door

About This Blog
I started this blog because the tabs on the Lucero message board kept getting lost when they switched sites. A blog isn't a perfect forum for guitar tabs and chords, but it now has posts for all but a handful of their songs. And, to the best of my knowledge, this is the only source for Lucero tabs that has been endorsed by an actual Lucero guitarist. Accept no substitutes.
Thank you to the folks who have sent me submissions, suggestions, and corrections. Thanks also to anyone who posted a tab on the luceromusic.com boards. You can find me there posting as Boston Twang. You can also email me at lucerotabs@gmail. Submissions and/or corrections are greatly appreciated.
Holy shit! That's how that goes... www.lucerotabs.blogspot.com

General Thoughts on Lucero Chords
Ben seems to favor chord variations that fret the B string at the third fret. If a C, Em, G, or A doesn't seem quite right, try:
Cadd9 (x32030), Em7 (022030), G (320033), Asus (x02230)
Also, I think he leaves the E string open on a lot of his D chords (xx0230).
