About This Blog

I started this blog because the tabs on the Lucero message board kept getting lost when they switched sites. A blog isn't a perfect forum for guitar tabs and chords, but it now has posts for all but a handful of their songs. And, to the best of my knowledge, this is the only source for Lucero tabs that has been endorsed by an actual Lucero guitarist. Accept no substitutes.

Holy shit! That's how that goes... www.lucerotabs.blogspot.com

Thank you to the folks who have sent me submissions, suggestions, and corrections. Thanks also to anyone who posted a tab on the luceromusic.com boards. You can find me there posting as Boston Twang. You can also email me at lucerotabs@gmail. Submissions and/or corrections are greatly appreciated.

General Thoughts on Lucero Chords

Ben seems to favor chord variations that fret the B string at the third fret. If a C, Em, G, or A doesn't seem quite right, try:
Cadd9 (x32030), Em7 (022030), G (320033), Asus (x02230)

Also, I think he leaves the E string open on a lot of his D chords (xx0230).

All These Love Songs

This one took a while to do because it has a lot of parts, but it's fun to play.

The main riff Ben plays is done with 2 string "chords" he varries it a little at different points in the song, but the gist of it is this:

-------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------
--------------0--0-0--0--------------------------
-10-9-10-12---10-9-10-12---10-9-10-9---10-9-7-5--
-0--0-0--0-----------------8--8-8--8---0--0-0-0--

The only time that he changes that in a way that justifies another tab is during the solo. Then it goes like this:

----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
-----------0--0-0-----------------------
-10-9-10---10-9-10---10-9-10---10-12-14-
-0--0-0--------------8--8-8----0--0--0--

-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
-----------------0--0-0--0--0------------
-10-9-10-12-10---10-9-10-12-10---10-9-10-
-0--0-0--0--0--------------------8--8-8--

Then it goes to G5 C5 G5 C5 E5, etc.

The intro lick for Brian begins like this:

-------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------
---4-5-5s7---7s9-7-5-4---4-5---------------------
-5-----------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------

Then it goes to this lick which repeats during the verses:

----------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------
---4h5p4---4h5p4---4h5p4---4-5-5s7-7-7-9-7-5-5-5-4--
-5-------5-------5-------5--------------------------
----------------------------------------------------

Brian's solo goes like this:

--------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------
-----5-5-5h7-7--9-9-10-9-7-7-7h9--9h10-10-9-9h10-10s12-10-9-7-7-5-5-
-5h7----------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------
-------5-7-7s9-10-9-7-7-7h9--9h10-10s12-10-10s9-9-7-
-5h7------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------
-----------------------5h7-7-7s9-7-5-5-5-5-7-
-5h7-7-7-5--5h7-7-7-5------------------------
---------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
-----------------------5h7-7-7s9-7-5-5-5-
-5h7-7-7-5--5h7-7-7-5--------------------
-----------------------------------------

The two main riffs repeat during most of the verses. They switch to chords at "pain." I think Ben is playing power chords (G5, C5, E5) and Brian plays full chords.

The walk down for the full chords goes (x32030) (x20030) (x00030) (320033)

I'm tired of all of these love songs
Those girls and those times are gone
But my heart keeps holdin on

Well I'm tired of thinking about you
And the hell that you put me through

_________Cadd9
Over you my dear

Well I'm tired of these love songs

They won't make you mine

I'm tired of singing my heart out every night
G__________________________________________Em7__Cadd9_walk down
Well i'm here all alone with not a soul to hear
G
All these love songs and where the hell are you, my dear

Well i'm tired of all of these songs now
Never meant to let you down
It just all went wrong somehow
Well i'm tired of feeling all this hurt and i'm tired of all these words
But the songs eat up some of the pain
Take the place of the tears
And ease the heartache
Over you my dear

Well i'm tired of these love songs,
They won't make you mine
Hell, i'm tired of singing my heart out every night
Well i'm here all alone with not a soul to hear
All these love songs and where the hell are you, my dear
